General Programme Description (up to 300 words)
The Horowhenua Services Academy commits itself to provide life skills, motivational learning, training and vocational options that will allow youth in the Horowhenua and surrounding areas to confidently and successfully establish their place within and contribute to the local community and New Zealand society.
The Horowhenua Services Academy will conduct several programmes over a ten month period for the Horowhenua and surrounding areas based in the Horowhenua College grounds, Levin Township, the Tararua ranges and at times the Land Training Doctrine Group (LTDG) Waiouru.
- A structured Military Based Environment
- Opportunities to attend several courses with the New Zealand Defence Force
- Opportunities to develop Service Skills and knowledge
- NCEA Credits in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Outdoor Education and Physical Education
